H5N1. Influenza pandemic TAMIFLU ON SALE
The United Nations has warned that a flu outbreak could kill up to 150 million people if the H5N1 bird flu virus mutates into a form which can be transmitted by humans.
Is there any reason to panic?
It is not surprising that autumnal migrations have spread the deadly H5N1 flu strain-east Europe and Russia. There is no evidence the virus has made the genetic mutation everyone dreads: changing to a form that would spread between people.

Avian Flu Detected In Ukraine
December 4, 2005
Kiev, Ukraine (AHN) - Ukraine has recorded its first bird flu outbreak, prompting the president to declare a state of emergency in four Crimean villages where more than 1,600 chickens and geese have died of the disease.
Officials say birds found dead over the past two months in the Black Sea peninsula have tested positive. Bird flu had already been detected in neighboring Romania nearly two months ago.
Ukrainian officials are trying to reassure the nation's citizens of 47 million that they are well-prepared.
Under the state of emergency ordered by President Viktor Yushchenko, no one will be allowed to enter or leave the quarantine and experts will visit every home to inform residents to count flocks. Sales of domestic fowl and poultry in the Crimea are prohibited and all birds - even if healthy - will be slaughtered and burned starting Sunday.
Be Prepared... An avian flu pandemic is almost a certainty.
"An influenza pandemic of even moderate impact will result in the biggest single human disaster ever - far greater than AIDS, 9/11, all wars in the 20th century and the recent tsunami combined. It has the potential to redirect world history as the Black Death redirected European history in the 14th century."
